A Short Short Story
It wasn’t until she got the message that she was finally able to cry. Not tears of anger, or tears of hurt, but ones of sadness. And she finally felt a peace about this boy who had come into her life in a storm, leaving nothing but devastation in his place. But this time was different. Which made her sadness multiply.
This boy, who had hurt her so many times in the past, was admitting that there...

i. love. this.
i can’t stop watching this!
i have a friend who lives his life by the phrase “contempt prior to investigation.” rather, he lives his live combatting that phrase. basically it means that you don’t like something before you try it. while there are certain things i will absolutely never like (hard drugs, living in cookie cutter suburbia, computer programming), i try to live my life based on this too.
i...

my new goal for the next five years is to visit every single u.s. state. i’m at twenty six so far. next up on my radar? oregon and maine.
i’m in a mood. a good one. an increasingly rare one where everything is filled with promise and potential. the kind of mood that i sometimes make fun of when i’m feeling jaded. the kind of mood where i’m writing and reading and listening to deb talan and her perfect words that are always appropriate and also drinking coffee.
i’m surrounded by people: the homeless...
would you believe it if i told you i read the great gatsby for the FIRST TIME this week? how did i last almost 23 years without doing that? also, i’m in the middle of reading the elegance of the hedgehog by muriel barbery and it’s the best book i’ve read in a long time. a long time being since i read let the great world spin in september. oh so good.
